New Huawei small tablet can feature 8.8-inch 16:10 OLED display

Huawei is allegedly making an 8.8-inch 16:10 small tablet, after the Pura X folding display phone. It seems the Chinese firm is working on another incredible product with a compact yet impressive design. A new leak sheds more light on this topic.
According to DigitalChatStation, Huawei is preparing an 8.8-inch small MatePad tablet with a 16:10 display ratio. The device will likely use a customized OLED panel.
Being small-sized, the upcoming tablet could sport an all-around thin and lightweight appearance. It will be easy to carry anywhere and give a compact feel.
The leak adds that it will be a flagship tablet with 5G capability and a Kirin 9 series chipset. One can expect a significant performance boost with this device.
Further details said that despite being a flagship, the new small MatePad tablet won’t focus much on gaming. Perhaps it will primarily aim to meet office and daily goals for users.

The tipster added that around 5 top tech vendors are developing small tablets this year. Although Huawei could be the first to release a mini-tab in Q2 2025.
Back in 2019, Huawei launched certain small tablets like MediaPad M6 with an 8.4-inch display and MatePad T8 with an 8.0-inch screen. Now the company is developing another small tablet that may debut in the second quarter of this year.
This small tablet could use a high-end screen solution, an optimized Kirin 9 chip, and interesting AI features. It may also feature a new camera module on the back and a sleek, smooth design.
Apart from tablets, Huawei is also working on a new HarmonyOS PC that is said to be a fusion of smartphone + tablet. It could bring an innovative appearance to the table alongside HarmonyOS’ blessing and dynamic AI capabilities.
