In September 2019, Huawei officially announces the openEuler as open-source and brings the openEuler 20.03 LTS edition in 2020. Now, the company is going to launch the new Huawei openEuler operating system on September 25 at 09:00 (GMT +8)
Before this announcement, Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei also stated on this matter informing Euler is putting more effort into strengthening the digital infrastructures and providing it with a sustained and reliable foundation.
As per the information, the new openEuler operating system, the open-source and free Linux distribution platform that offers an open community for developers worldwide is now set to take the multi-core complex computing industry to the next level.
openEuler 20.03 LTS
Previously, Huawei confirmed openEuler upgrade plan, openEuler 22.03 will be released next year and it’ll be based on Linux kernel 5.10. Huawei ranks 1st in the contribution of the Linux Kernel 5.10 patches, and the total contribution of Linux Kernel 5.6-5.11 code accounts for 5.8%, ranking in the top 3.

Next major global Huawei software update, but when?
At HDC 2021, Huawei announced new software technologies including the HarmonyOS 3.0 developer preview, Huawei Mobile Services Core (HMS Core) 6, and a number of new announcements in terms of cloud. There were also new data that has been revealed about ecosystem development that has been raised so far after HDC 2019.
The number of HarmonyOS software upgrades in China has hiked as the fastest-growing ever, which is very good for the company and the growth of this new mobile operating system. According to Huawei, HarmonyOS has achieved over 150 million upgrades as of October 22, 2021.
This is quite a big number of rejoicing and a matter of celebration.
But what about the global consumers, when they’ll receive the same treatment or should I say, the next major Huawei software update?
Currently, Huawei has released both – EMUI 12 and HarmonyOS 2 in front of global Huawei consumers at the launch conference. However, only EMUI 12 is being released with new smartphones among the global models.
Meanwhile, the global consumers want to know their own faith and they’re pretty much at the peak of their excitement as well as disappointment at the moment. Their comparison is quite right with the Chinese consumers, where they are being treated with a full banquet of features brought by HarmonyOS 2 software update.
As a global Huawei smartphone owner, I too feel that the software must be upgraded and people cannot run the same software over and over, while other smartphone makers are sending the newest addition to the system.
Next Major Huawei software update
Huawei usually sends or releases its plan to upgrade by the end of the year for the global Huawei smartphone holders. This update first tests on top models, followed by a staged rollout on older devices. This year, if released, the testing may start in Late November under beta testing and the stable rollout could initiate around late December 2021 or January 2022.
Meanwhile, Huawei has not announced any such timeline or whatsoever. However, the Chinese tech maker could release EMUI 12 for the global markets, rather than going in with HarmonyOS. We’ll keep you posted.
5.5G increase network capacity by 10 times: Huawei
Recently, Huawei wireless network product line general manager Gao Quanzhong participated at IOTE·2021 in Shenzhen and speakers about the 5.5G network, benefits, current status, and future possibilities.
According to the information, the International High-precision Positioning Technology and Application Innovation Summit Forum was conducted on 24th October. The industrial leaders and invited guests deliver several keynotes about the network technology, problems, and future scopes.
At the event, Manager Gao stated that the global 5GtoB industry development is moving towards its peak with a steady growth rate. Currently, more than 20 different industries have adopted the 5G network while over 10,000 applications have been developed.
Going with the speech, the Huawei manager noted that the iteration of the mobile communication network is developing with each decade. In addition, each network depends on its corresponding bandwidth spectrum to provide a strong network connection in the era.
Gao Quanzhong further explains, alongside the network speed, the positioning accuracy also increases by ten folds in each generation till 5G. In this line, the soon-to-frozen 3GPP R17 standard is expected to achieve 0.5-meter positioning accuracy.
To say so, we have reached so far from the 2G network generation that the communication network has been advanced to cross thousands of miles in a few minutes. Thanks to the 5G, we are hoping to reach more heights.
Furthermore, the 5.5G will bring a ten-fold increase in network capacity alongside the centimeter-level positioning accuracy and the terminal standby. The report shows the terminal standby time will improve by more than two years.
Huawei 5.5G: Previous Reports
On this matter, Huawei previously stated to bring 5.5G between 2025 and 2030. The company wants to provide its consumers with a network capacity that can deliver Gbps downlink at a low latency as low as 5ms.
In addition, it will be able to support the sub-100GHz full frequency band with more advanced benefits over the 5G network. In previous reports, the Chinese firm also highlighted six areas that’ll be enhanced by the 5.5G, it includes-

At the 7th Global Ultra-Broadband Fixed Forum (UBBF 2021), Huawei launched the first “All-optical Autonomous Driving Network White Paper“. Huawei NCE Optical Network Marketing Director Wang Jinping elaborates this white paper document.
This forum was conducted in Dubai under the theme of “Connect +, New Growth”. At the vent, Director Wang stated driverless driving is not only creating a new experience but bringing a quality connection also.
He further mentions the all-optical network is the cornerstone of the entire communication network to the extent that it has become an industry consent.
