Huawei Mate 60 series brought back consumers’ interest in smartphones and analysts believe that new 5G phones have become a light of hope to stop the steady decline in the Chinese phone market.

Ivan Lam, senior research analyst at Counterpoint said that Huawei’s new Mate 60 Pro 5G series has brought great confidence in China’s smartphone market. Lam predicts that Huawei’s latest 5G sales could break through 5 to 6 million units by the end of this year.

The analyst weighs heavily on the changes made in the HarmonyOS and its user base in China. Huawei Mate 60 will lead the company to get new users and also bring back the users that fled to other companies over the past three years.

But 2023 appeared to be different for the Chinese phone maker. Counterpoint’s Lam recorded Huawei with a 41% increase as compared to the last year.

The latest Huawei product is the result of the new Huawei supply chain, which remained cold after the US supply chain. This allowed the company to return to its traditional launch schedules.

Huawei Mate 60 Series:

Late in August, Huawei unveiled the Mate 60 Pro without a launch event. On the same day, Huawei began to sell this product via online and offline sales channels. Although, it was an early bird program but many of the users grabbed a unit instantly after the order via offline stores.

Interestingly, the Huawei Mate 60 Pro has been making headlines ever since the unveiling of its new mysterious 5G Kirin chip. A Teardown report from TechInsights shows that Huawei is using its own Kirin chip. However, Huawei is not promoting the chip in public and all of the information surrounding this new chip remains unknown.

Meanwhile, Huawei keeps on selling new Huawei Mate 60 series devices. Reports suggest that Huawei’s overall sales of the Mate 60 series could cross over 10 million, some even predicted to cross over 14 to 15 million.

Huawei is also planning to launch new 5G phones, thus increasing hope for growth in the Chinese smartphone market.
