More Huawei phones could feature dual-layer OLED in near future

Huawei Pura 80 series has become the focal point after the dual-layer OLED rumor. If true, the device would be a flagship with the most powerful screen. Meanwhile, new info says that Huawei may use dual-layer OLED for more phones in the future.
DigitalChatStation says that Huawei will continue to use dual-layer OLED panels for future flagship phones. The aim is to take display performance and screen capabilities to new heights, offering a more impressive viewing experience to users.
The tipster added that Huawei will also promote technological upgrades and advanced components for its devices. It will eventually eliminate the existing power issues and ensure a more reliable experience with the forthcoming phones.
A dual-layer OLED screen is far better than the standard OLEDs. It is a combination of two overlapped light-emitting layers. Each layer operates at a lower brightness level. Thus, it makes the device more durable and reduces eye fatigue.
Another benefit is less power consumption. Both layers work independently and spread the electrical load across multiple layers, resulting in less power usage.

Mate 70 RS Ultimate Design is the first Huawei phone to feature a double-layer OLED screen. Now, the company is seemingly planning to use this tech for Pura 80.
It is unclear if Huawei will keep the significant display technology confined to top-end variants or bring it to vanilla models as well. However, the company will certainly continue to use the “dual-layer OLED” for more devices in the time ahead.
Apart from the screen segment, the tech giant is focusing on the camera and chip aspects. The company has recently unveiled an optimized Kirin T92 SoC for its global MatePad Pro 13.2 2025 variant. That says it may bring a new chip for Pura 80 as well.
