May 2021 security patch for Nova 7i smartphone expanding in more markets

Huawei is started expanding the May 2021 security update for the Huawei Nova 7i smartphone making its way into the more market for improved system security. However, it initially rollout in the Middle East.

To be mentioned, the security improvements are very important for any device as it fixes several new bugs and vulnerabilities found in the last software build. At the moment, this update is expanding and soon cover the Nova 7i devices in all regions.

According to the information, the May 2021 security update fixes 3 critical, 10 high, and 4 medium levels of CVEs. In addition, Huawei also resolves 13 hidden privacy issues found in previous updates.

Huawei Nova 7i smartphone owners can found this latest update with version EMUI 10.1.0.327 upgraded from EMUI 10.1.0.322 (C636E1R2P1).

HarmonyOS 2.0 for global variants:

Huawei has launched HarmonyOS 2.0 self-developed operating system on June 2 and started adapting progress in mainland China. But, the company has not yet revealed any official HarmonyOS 2.0 rollout map for global models.

According to the information, it is expected that Huawei will start the HarmonyOS 2.0 beta testing in the last quarter of 2021 in the overseas markets.

What about Huawei Nova 7i, will it receive HarmonyOS 2.0 upgrades?

Huawei Nova 7i is the global version of Huawei Nova 6 SE, which is eligible to get HarmonyOS and it directly means that these devices are also eligible to run HarmonyOS.

HOW TO UPDATE:

Download via Settings:

  • Open Settings
  • Click on the System & Updates
  • Open Software update
  • Tap on Check for updates option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device

Download via Support app:

  • Open the Support app on your device
  • Go to the Service tab
  • Click on the update button
  • Tap on Check for update option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device
