Malaysia’s U Mobile to team up with Huawei for 5G network solutions

Malaysia’s U Mobile network operator is reportedly planning to join hands with Huawei for 5G network solutions. The company has teamed up many times with the Chinese tech giant in the past to bring a smarter 5G experience in the country.
U Mobile is a data-centric company in Malaysia. It provides significant mobile data services and is considered the youngest full-fledged telecom firm with rapid growth.
It offers many mobile plans, such as prepaid, postpaid, and Borneo-specific options. The company also runs a modern network framework to offer the best services.
As of now, Malaysia’s U Mobile telecommunication company aims to launch a second 5G network infrastructure in the country using Huawei and ZTE solutions.
Reuters reported that U Mobile will use Huawei 5G network infrastructure and ZTE solutions to release the second 5G network in the country. Vincent Tan, the Chairman of U Mobile, revealed the work sectors for both Chinese firms:
“Huawei will be responsible for the 5G network in Peninsular Malaysia, while ZTE will oversee East Malaysia.”
Tan didn’t mention the amount of this deal. Although he stated that both ZTE and Huawei have a proven global deployment track record. Therefore, they have been chosen for this work.
U Mobile has already applied for a government contract last month to roll out the second 5G network in Malaysia. Now, it will soon initiate the task and deploy Huawei and ZTE’s 5G equipment to its core network.
Malaysia’s Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said in 2023 that such a move in the future will lead to a more effective network experience. It will offer a balance of both Eastern and Western technology.
