MagicOS 9.0 public beta upgrade is live for Honor X60 and X50 phones

Honor has started releasing the MagicOS 9.0 public beta update for the X60 and X50 smartphones. The update is open for unlimited number of users and brings a massive changelog including AI features, UI enhancements, and useful optimizations.

The company has rolled out the stable MagicOS 9.0 update for the top-end models like the Magic 7/6/5 and Magic V3 folding phones. Meanwhile, it is expanding the major software upgrade for more eligible devices in the family.

X60/Pro and the standard X50 are currently fetching the Honor MagicOS 9 public beta update. The company will soon push this build to more compatible devices.

Users who have enrolled in the MagicOS 9.0 closed beta program will receive the new build automatically. However, others need to register via the My Honor App.

Just open the app and visit the Club page. Tap MagicOS 9 and select the Upgrade and Try option. Now click on the Public Beta Application and then register for the upgrade by following the on-screen instructions.

Those who are upgrading from the closed beta to the public testing version will receive a medium-sized changelog given below. But other users will get a huge list of features and optimizations. Note that the public beta build differs for all three models.

Magic Lock Screen

• Added an AI lock screen expansion feature, which smartly optimizes the lock screen wallpaper composition (Path: Settings > Home Screen and Personalization > Lock Screen Style > Select a picture > Pinch and zoom the image > Click AI expansion)

YOYO Assistant

• YOYO Assistant added a smart voice image processing feature. supports voice command to eliminate passers-by, beautify photos, generate ID photos, and extract card information to notes (supports ID cards, bank cards, household registration books, driver’s licenses, passports, and business licenses/cards)

Image AI Expansion

• Added an AI expansion feature, supports rotation expansion and free-ratio expansion, making photos into blockbusters in seconds. (Path: Gallery > Select a picture > AI Edit > Magic Photo > AI Expansion

AI Style

• Added an AI Style feature, enabling a variety of creative styles, giving photos a new lease of life. (Path: Gallery > Select Photo > AI Edit > Magic Photo > AI Style)
• Added the AI object and passer-by removal tool. (Path: Gallery > Select a photo > AI Edit > Magic Photo > AI Elimination > Passerby Removal)

AI Face Swap Detection

• Added the AI face swap detection feature, automatically identifying the risk of the other party’s AI face swap during video calls to protect your safety (Path: Settings > Security > Anti-Fraud Protection > Video Call AI Face Swap Reminder).
