MagicOS 9.0.0.169 is out for Honor Magic 7 with lock screen features

Honor Magic 7 series is receiving a new software update with the MagicOS 9.0.0.169 version and a package size of 1.62GB. The firmware is bringing a set of exciting features and useful capabilities. It has also improved some existing functions.

The latest update adds new changes to the connectivity segment. It brings a new Android Auto feature to boost the car networking, irrespective of the location.

On the flip side, it has added some useful lock screen features. Firstly, it has optimized the double-tap screen-off feature. Besides, users will see a new flashlight quick-start entry at the lower corner of the lock screen.

MagicOS 9.0.0.169 update for the Honor Magic 7 series also improves the security aspects by enhancing the “Hide Apps” features and adding support for blocking calls. You can check the complete changelog below.

Wi-Fi Connection

• Added support for WLAN password input and paste function to improve input efficiency.

Personal Hotspot

• The new personal hotspot interface supports screenshots, making sharing hotspots more convenient.

Car Connectivity

• Added support for the Android Auto feature, which allows you to use Android Auto for car networking when you are abroad.

Apps

• Optimized the vibration feedback effect of the system application setting item switch. (Settings > Sound and vibration > More sound and vibration settings > System tactile feedback)

System

• Added a new compass vibration feedback effect. When the phone is rotated to the positive direction, it will vibrate to improve the compass usage experience.
• Optimized the screen brightness to adjust continuously, making it more comfortable to use the phone in brightness-sensitive environments.

Lock Screen

• Optimized the double-click screen-off feature. You can also quickly turn off the screen by double-clicking a blank area on the lock screen. (Settings > Accessibility > Quick launch and gestures > Screen on/off > Double-click screen off.)
• Added a new flashlight quick-start entry in the lower left corner of the lock screen interface. You can drag it upwards to turn on the flashlight feature.
• Added a new lock screen password erosion feedback, which adds a vibration effect when entering the lock screen digital password input interface to improve the input experience.

Display

• Added support for UltraHDR format picture high dynamic display.

Security

• Added the Hide Apps feature, which supports hiding apps’ icons on the home screen, home screen search portals, message notifications, recent tasks, etc. (Settings > Privacy > Hide Apps)
• Added support for blocking calls from virtual operators to provide you with a better harassment blocking experience. (System Manager > Harassment Blocking > Blocking Rules > Phone Blocking Rules)
• Integrated the Android April 2025 security patch to enhance the system security.

Note that these features are rolling out gradually to all models. In case you haven’t received them yet, check the device’s Settings app and search for the latest version manually.
