MagicOS 9.0.0.157 feature update rolling out for Honor Magic 7/6 series

Honor is releasing the MagicOS 9.0.0.157 massive feature update for the top-end Magic 7 and Magic 6 models. The company is rolling out the new build in batches. It will take a few days to reach all the eligible devices and feed them with new features.

Devices like Magic V3 series, V Flip, and V2 foldable phones are also getting the new update. This is quite a significant rollout as it brings new changes to every aspect.

Magic 7/6 series is fetching the Honor MagicOS 9.0.0.157 update with a 1.5GB software package. The firmware mainly improves the battery life of the flagship lineup.

The update enhances the AI smart power-saving engine that fixes the power consumption issues. This is something different in the changelog for the Magic 7 series.

It also adds some dynamic features for the camera, gallery, apps, smart multi-window, and Honor Car Connect segment. Users will also get a new February 2025 security patch with fixes to several hidden vulnerabilities and privacy exploits.

While the versions are the same, the changelog may differ for the Magic 7 and 6 series to some extent. You can check the list of new features and changes below.

Apps

• More than 200 apps now support the app clone feature. (Path: Settings > Apps > App Clone > More Clone Apps)

Gallery

• Added a geometric correction feature for image editing. (Path: Gallery > Select a picture > AI Edit > Crop > Rotate Horizontal or vertical.)
• Added the image cutout feature. Long-press the image to select the cutout subject and copy it.
• Optimized the picture text editing feature, support adjusting the layout style and support multiple modifications and editing. (Path: Gallery > Select Photo > AI Edit > Text.)
• Improved the clarity of puzzle-generated images. (Path: Gallery > Select multiple photos > Create > Puzzle > Save.)

Camera

• Added a new feature to keep the camera settings, which supports keeping the custom settings for taking photos, including camera mode, filter, image style, HDR, dynamic photo, and Eagle Eye wonderful capture. (Path: Camera > Settings > Keep settings.)
• Optimize telephoto clarity in some scenarios in photo mode.

Honor Car Connect

• Supports the automatic cruise feature of Amap and Baidu Map. The cruise function will be automatically activated when the vehicle speed is greater than 30km/h. (Path: Car desktop settings > Turn on an automatic cruise.)
• Optimize the Carlife connection guide for Volkswagen and BMW models, and make the car-machine connection operation clearer. (Path: Honor Car Life > Connect vehicle > Select the connected model.)
• Added support for audio diversion under the ICCE protocol (subject to the support of the vehicle computer), which can auto-adjust the volume of media, navigation, etc., and at the same time fix problems such as silence, low sound, and poor sound quality of some vehicle computers.
• Optimize the interactive experience of Himalaya and Migu Music.

Call

• The call recording file of the third-party application will display the call contact name.

Home Screen

• Added a double-tap feature. Double-clicking on the home screen will turn the display off. Double-clicking on a blank area on the screen can quickly turn off the screen. (Path: Settings > Accessibility > Quick launch and gestures > Screen on/off > Double-click to turn off the screen.)

Smart Multi-Window

• A global search for group split screen pairs supports split screen mode.
• Optimize the floating window interaction experience and support the simultaneous operation of the floating window and the underlying application interface.
• Optimize the interactive experience of switching from a floating window to a mini window.

Parallel Space

• Added a new “Hide without Trace” feature to the Parallel Space. When enabled, you can hide the traces using Parallel Space. You can quickly enter the mode by expanding or pinching fingers on the home screen. (Path: Settings > Security > Parallel Space > Hide without Trace)

Security Patch

• Incorporated Android February 2025 security patch to enhance system security.
