Leak suggests Xiaomi readying Android 16-based HyperOS 3.0

Android 16 is coming and alongside Xiaomi is rumored to begin preparation of HyperOS 3.0. A recent leak suggested the phone maker is on the verge to start readying another major software version amid HyperOS 2.0 upgrade distribution plan.
SmartPrix shared some details about the upcoming Android 16’s skins. The info revealed that Samsung One UI 8 is in the works and may debut earlier than expected.
The information further mentioned Xiaomi HyperOS 3.0 As per the details, Xiaomi may begin developing the new HyperOS version in the upcoming months.
After Samsung, Xiaomi seems to be the second phone maker in the list to speed up the Android 16’s skin development. The company hasn’t confirmed these inputs so far. But we can expect major revelations on this matter in the time ahead.
HyperOS 2.0 launched in October 2024 for Chinese consumers and made a global debut in November 2024. Since Android 16 is arriving early this year, we can expect the HyperOS 3.0 release sooner than last year, probably in August or September with a new flagship smartphone series.
Some other inputs say that HyperOS 3.0 may bring better personalization features over the current version. There could be more new UI tools than before.
Currently, Xiaomi is focusing on the HyperOS 2.1 software version. It is a minor upgrade with bug fixes and significant improvements. It also adds a few eye-catching changes to enhance the user experience. For instance, new lock screen fonts, animations, brightness adjustments, Dynamic Island notifications, and more
The update is already available to the Xiaomi 15 and 14 models. It may soon reach other eligible Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO devices.
