Kirin 9020A chip will be used in Huawei’s large screen size tablet

Huawei is preparing a new large-screen tablet that may run on the Kirin 9020A chip. The company has recently launched an iconic MatePad device in the global market. Now it is seemingly bringing the model to its Chinese consumers.
We are talking about the globally launched MatePad Pro 12.2 2025 tablet.
DigitalChatStation has shared key specs of the new Huawei large-screen tablet, revealing that the device will use a Kirin T92A/Kirin 9020A chip. It will feature a dual-cam (50MP + 8MP) setup, a 10100mAh battery, Wi-Fi 7, and satellite capabilities.
Apart from these parameters, the device may support a 100W super-fast charging, an 8MP front camera, an 8-drive high and low frequency quad-speakers, and USB 3.1 Gen 1. It will be 5.5mm thin and weigh nearly 508 grams.
The device will also have a 12.2-inch dual-layer OLED screen with 2.8K resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, a 3:2 screen ratio, and 2000 nits peak brightness.
Huawei Kirin 9020A
Kirin 9020A isn’t a new processor. Huawei first introduced this chip with the Mate 70 Pro Premium Edition. It has a 12-core architecture with the following cores:
- 2 large cores @ 2.40GHz
- 6 medium cores @ 2.00GHz
- 4 small cores @ 1.60GHz

The company has developed the chip via hyperthreading to make it more powerful and efficient. It is capable of improving the device’s performance by 35% over the Mate 60 Pro, despite downclocked large and medium core frequencies.
Inputs further reveal that the Kirin 9020A chip will be paired with the Maleoon 920 3cu GPU. Perhaps the global variant is also equipped with the same processor.
Other specifications are quite the same as the global sibling. Although changes may appear in satellite communication technology. Huawei will launch the MatePad Pro 12.2 2025 tablet with probably new satellite features that can offer a more seamless communication experience.
What else changes the device will bring over its overseas sibling would be worth looking forward to.
