Kia reportedly planning to use Huawei smart cockpits for new cars

Kia Corporation is in talks to team up with Huawei for its smart cockpits solution and use them in its upcoming cars. These cars, however, will be confined to the Chinese market. Both companies may explore more areas apart from cockpits.
Kia is a South Korean multinational automobile company. It is the second-largest car maker in South Korea after the parent company – Hyundai Motor. Kia is a merger of two words: Ki means to arise, and ‘a’ means from Asia.
As per a Chinese media – Future Car Daily, Kia is planning to use Huawei smart cockpits for its future cars. The media outlet says that the global automaker could adopt Huawei smart driving solutions for its upcoming Chinese EVs.
The media adds that car maker could increase native parts in the car rather than foreign technology. Kia promised to unveil six smart cars from 2023 to 2027.
During this period, Kia will collaborate with Huawei, Xiaomi, CATL, Baidu, Teld, and other smart driving companies to make its car models efficient for Chinese users.
In particular, Kia may extend its cooperation with Huawei and other brands in many fields, like third-gen electric systems, energy replenishment tech, and sales channels.

Kia may further join hands with the Chinese firm to build Tier-1 EVs, where Huawei will work as a traditional first-tier supplier and offer smart driving solutions. Meanwhile, the car maker will focus on vehicle integration and other features.
Apart from smart cockpits, the automobile producer aims to tie up with major battery suppliers in China to boost the durability and battery life of its vehicles.
Kia has not confirmed the news yet. However, it aims to use advanced solutions and technology to raise the automobile market competition in China.
