Huawei and Yum China have recently conducted a ceremony where KFC announced its completion of HarmonyOS native app beta development. This has made KFC the first fast food brand to adapt to the HarmonyOS NEXT-based app beta version.

Even though McDonald’s belongs to the same category and launched the HarmonyOS native app development at the same time, KFC has now started leading this journey.

It seems McDonald’s is still working on the new app build development. But we can expect to see more fast food brands joining the HarmonyOS app ecosystem in future.

Yum China’s KFC super application has developed the HarmonyOS native app beta version. The company said that the new app build makes full use of HarmonyOS features and functionalities. It will ultimately provide a convenient user experience.

The new KFC app version will enable customers to easily manage their orders and meal delivery even at times of switching devices. One can order food, find nearby stores, opt for delivery status, view member activities, and enjoy payment services.

Another significant function is to use the KFC application on multiple devices without installing it again and again. This helps both customers and the company by reducing the development cost of the application and lets you run the same app everywhere.

Since KFC has completed the beta version, it will soon jump to the stable build. Meanwhile, users can expect the HarmonyOS NEXT-based app beta launch from McDonald’s in the upcoming weeks. The Chinese tech giant wants to include apps as many as possible till the HDC 2024 event in June.
