iPhone 17 may use big screen, but Huawei’s 2025 display plans are even bigger

Apple is seemingly planning a big screen upgrade for the standard iPhone 17. While the company doesn’t pay major attention to the display upgrades of the vanilla variants in its flagship lineup, this time, it seems to be up with certain changes.
Rumors have it that the iPhone 17 will follow the iPhone 16 Pro screen size and bring a big display. Simply put, it may feature a larger display than its predecessor.
The rumor is coming from the courtesy of DigitalChatStation. The tipster says that the iPhone 17 will use a 6.27 or 6.3-inch screen. Other inputs hint that iPhone 17 and Pro could have a similar display size, probably matching that of iPhone 16 Pro.
None of these rumors has received any confirmation from Apple yet. But the company has used a similar strategy in 2023 with the iPhone 15 series. Hence, the upcoming standard and iPhone 17 Pro models may have the same screen size of screens.
While the news could sound good for iPhone lovers, it is worth saying that Huawei also has some new “display” plans for its upcoming devices, and these plans seem bigger than those of Apple!

A recent leak suggested that Huawei is planning to cut down the screen size for its future smartphones, but Mate 80 will be an exception. The flagship lineup will likely stick to bigger display panels for better multitasking and viewing experiences.

It’s good to see that Apple has a better display upgrade for the iPhone 17. However, the upgrade is even smaller than the Nova 14 screen (6.7-inch).
Well, Apple believes in making its standard flagship models small for one-handed use and portability. iPhone 16 has a 6.1-inch screen. It would be worth seeing how far the latest rumors regarding iPhone 17 turn out to be true in the future.
