HyperOS 2 brings cross-device live photo feature to more Xiaomi phones

HyperOS 2.0 is the latest software version in the Xiaomi world, and it’s bringing a cool live photo feature to Xiaomi phones. The company is rolling out the “cross-device live photo” capability to eligible handsets, enhancing the pic-sharing experience.
Live Photo is an interesting feature that records a short video clip before and after capturing a still picture. It also records audio of the surroundings.
The feature is exclusive to Apple devices like iPhones and iPads. However, Android phone users can experience it with the help of certain third-party applications.
Meanwhile, HyperOS 2.0 has introduced an amazing capability for Xiaomi phones called cross-device live photo. It allows users to transfer live photos seamlessly between Xiaomi handsets (smartphones and tablets) and iPhones or iPads.
As announced by Xiaomi Weibo, the company is expanding the reach of the cross-ecosystem Live Photo transmission tool to more devices with the HyperOS 2 upgrade. It supports the grayscale mode in Xiaomi handsets.

The company has announced the new feature on the official Q&A page of the HyperOS website. Users will be able to enjoy dynamic motion effects sharing between Xiaomi and Apple devices. Although, you must meet these conditions:
- Your devices (Apple and Xiaomi) should be connected to the same wireless LAN.
- Make sure that apps like Xiaomi Share and Xiaomi Photo Album are running on their latest versions.
App Versions
- Xiaomi Share: 3.6.2 and later builds
- Xiaomi Photo Album: 4.2.0.8 and later builds
- Xiaomi Internet Service: 1.3 and later (for Apple Devices)
The feature is currently live in China, but it will soon reach global users. Stay tuned.
