HyperOS 2.2 Recent Apps interface may bring iOS-like feel to Xiaomi phones

Xiaomi is testing HyperOS 2.2 internally and looks like the upcoming major upgrade will bring an iOS-like Recent Apps interface. A new input suggests that Xiaomi users may enjoy Apple iPhone feel on their smartphones with the next version.
HyperOS 2.2 features have started emerging in leaks and rumors. The latest one reveals a redesigned Recent Apps interface with certain enhancements.
As noted by XiaomiTime, HyperOS 2.2 may eventually introduce an iOS-like Recent Apps interface. There could be more options to choose from and use the desired one.
iOS Recent Apps interface shows an overlapping style. The frequently used apps appear piled up on each other. Users can simply slide the preview cards to check the previously used application. It is an easy way to quickly switch between apps.
Looks like Xiaomi may integrate the same ‘overlap’ style into HyperOS 2.2. The shared screenshot shows three options: Vertically, Horizontally, and Pile up.

The first one shows recent apps in a list format. You can scroll up to look for more applications. The second one highlights the apps in sections. You need to slide your finger on the screen to access the app. Pile-up refers to the iOS-like overlapping design.
Inputs reveal that Xiaomi has been trying to implement this change since the HyperOS 2.0 launch. However, the company may finally bring it to users with the 2.2 version. The feature is currently in the testing phase but debut in the time ahead.
