Huawei’s presence in AI is growing every single year, says Nvidia CEO

Nvidia CEO – Jensen Huan sees Huawei as a strong contender in the AI chip race. In a recent interview, the executive said that its rival’s presence is unexpectedly growing in the AI field. It’s the only ‘most formidable’ technology company in China.
Jensen Huang recently had a talk session with the Financial Times. The CEO revealed Nvidia’s future goals and strategies that will help the company grow in the AI sector.
During the talks, Nvidia CEO said Huawei presence in AI is growing every single year. It is the most challenging tech company in the Chinese AI market at present.
Huang adds that the company may soon become a major part of the global AI competition, regardless of the US sanctions. It is already pouring efforts to rise in the Chinese AI industry and aims to build the best Nvidia chips alternatives.
Huawei was sanctioned in 2019 for being a national security threat in the US. While the company denied these allegations, US restricted it from using any foreign techs.

Later, the company started using native solutions and finally appeared in 2024 with a new phone powered by Kirin 9000s. Now, it is doing well in China, whether it’s in the smartphone industry, tablet or PC category, or the AI chip field.’
The company has surpassed Apple many times in Chinese phone (premium) sales with its innovative and AI-packed creations. These improvements within a few years suggest that the US government’s efforts to suppress Huawei are in vain.
“Huawei’s presence in AI is growing every single year. We can’t assume they are not going to be a factor” – said Jensen Huang.
