Huawei’s 2nd Mate XT could be most durable triple foldable with UFG screen
Huawei is already up for its 2nd triple foldable smartphone, and it could be the most durable one with a cutting-edge screen technology. A new leak says that the company is planning to use UFG glass for the upcoming tri-fold product.
FixedFocus revealed that the 2nd Huawei triple foldable phone could use a UFG Glass screen. The company received the first batch of these display panels last year. Although it will be mass-produced by 2026, probably for the Mate XT 2.
UFG or Ultra Flexible Glass is a type of screen, used for foldable devices. It is far superior and flexible than the traditional UTG (Ultra-Thin Glass). The advanced display solution is durable and scratch-resistant, thanks to its unique design.
The key feature of UFG Glass is its uneven thickness. It has thinner areas at the folding point for easier bending, while thicker areas elsewhere to offer boosted durability.
As a result, it reduces stress and pressure when folding the device and makes it less prone to scratches. Currently, Samsung W25 is the only top-end foldable that uses a cutting-edge UFG screen. Although Huawei could be the next in this queue.

The same tipster earlier mentioned that Huawei could soon use the UFG technology for future folding phones. Perhaps the next-gen Mate XT will be the first Huawei device to adopt this screen and fill the durability gap found in the first-gen model.
Samsung is all set to introduce its first triple foldable smartphone to the market. The device may go official in the third quarter of this year with a 10-inch screen and a G or Z-like folding format.
To compete with the new rival, Huawei will likely use an upgraded display technology that not only meets the best user experience but also delivers an impressive visual and durable performance in every aspect.
