Huawei Y9 2019 grabs March EMUI security update, no signs of EMUI 10

Following the rollout of EMUI 10 for Huawei Y9 Prime 2019, users of Huawei Y9 2019 are still wondering “when they’ll receive the EMUI 10?”.

Aside from its EMUI 10 update, Huawei has recently started pushing a new EMUI 9.1 firmware for Y9 2019 with March 2020 security.

The March 2020 security improvements including Google security patches and fixes for 2 critical and 20 high levels of Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE).

Note: The update is rolling out in batches, so it may take some time to reach your device.

HUAWEI Y9 2019 EMUI VERSIONS:

Huawei Y9 2019 receiving the March 2020 security update with EMUI version 9.1.0.264 and a software package size of 97.15MB.

Note: EMUI version and size may vary depending on the region/country.

EMUI 10:

Huawei has confirmed that Huawei Y9 2019 is eligible to receive EMUI 10 but its Indian Variant may not receive the EMUI 10.

HOW TO CHECK FOR UPDATE:

Via Settings:

Open Settings
Click on ‘System’
Click on ‘Software update’
Click on ‘CHECK FOR UPDATES’
Click on ‘Download and install’

Via HiCare/Support:

Open HiCare/Support app
Click on ‘Services’ tab
Click on ‘Update’
Click on ‘CHECK FOR UPDATES’
Click on ‘Download and install’
