Huawei Y6 Pro 2019 smartphone grabbing a new software update, brings new security improvements

Huawei Y6 Pro 2019 smartphone starts receiving a new software update that brings the security patch released in April 2021 to increase system security. Meanwhile, the company continues to forge ahead with the rollout of the May 2021 security patch for its eligible devices.

It’s good to see that Huawei is still treating this with the latest security improvements to secure the users’ data and provide more stability to this 2019’s device.

According to the information, the Y6 Pro phone receiving this new firmware upgrade with EMUI 9.1 version 9.1.0.410 (C636E1R1P7). To be mentioned, the latest update comes with an update package size of 246MB.

HarmonyOS 2.0

The discussion of HarmonyOS 2.0 is not relevant here because at the moment HarmonyOS 2.0 beta testing is going in China and expand soon for global variants. Currently, we don’t have any confirmation on this matter but we can only hope that Huawei Y6 Pro gets a slot in the HM OS wagon.

This security update fixes different levels of exploits and issues including 17 high and 69 medium levels of CVEs for improved system security.

Update Instructions:

There are two ways that you can download this latest software update, both of these areas the following:

VIA SETTINGS:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Tap on System
  3. Tap Software update
  4. Tap Check for Updates
  5. Download and Install
  6. Install

After the installation and restart, we recommend you let the system optimize the new application so your device can run smoothly on further commands.

VIA SUPPORT:

You can also request this update via the Support app with the following instructions.

  1. Open the Support app
  2. Go to the Services tab
  3. Tap on Update
  4. Download and Install
  5. Install
