Huawei plans to unveil new Snake Year variants for the Watch GT 5 series in bright red color. The company has listed a new edition at the online VMall store. It is not available for purchase at present, but the company will soon make it official.

The Chinese calendar doesn’t count years infinitely. Instead, it has a zodiac or animal names that repeat every 12 years. 2025 is going to be the year of Wood-Snake.

Based on the year, Huawei is adding new variants to its flagship devices. The tech giant announced the Snake Year Edition for the FreeBuds Pro 4. New red and black color variants are also in the making for the Pura 70 Ultra and Pro handsets.

Now Huawei has listed new red color variants of the Watch GT 5  series at VMall. The bright edition is showing up for both standard and Pro wearable models.

The red edition shows customized dials with a Snake theme and different straps. Watch GT 5 has a red plain-leather strap whereas, the Pro one shows a woven-like strap with a sporty appearance. Huawei mentioned that “the straps shown in the picture must be purchased separately or through the New Year strap package.”

Huawei Watch GT 5 series red color variants launch and price details are currently unknown. Although the company could make it official later this month.

The flagship wearable lineup brings two models: Standard and Pro. The first one is available in 46mm and 41mm while the second one comes in 46mm and 42mm sizes. Both models feature 1.43-inch (46mm) and 1.32-inch (41/42mm) screens.

Huawei Watch GT 5 46mm model has a 14-day battery life under typical use. Meanwhile, the 41/42mm bears a 7-day battery life. The company adds 11 new watch faces to the standard model and 13 watch faces to the Watch GT 5 Pro.

Other features of the Watch GT 5 series are:

  • TruSense system: An advanced health sensing system with faster and more accurate reports.
  • Sunflower positioning system: Tracks satellite signals to pinpoint positions for outdoor activities.
  • Screenshot feature: Capture the watch screen and save the shot in the phone’s gallery.
  • Emotional Wellbeing: A dedicated stress detection application.
