Huawei Watch GT 4 receiving HarmonyOS 4.2 software update

There is good news for Huawei Watch GT 4 users living in China as the feature-rich HarmonyOS 4.2 (4.2.0.103) update reached their doorstep. The new firmware rolled out directly to users without any beta activity and is gradually reaching every unit.

HarmonyOS 4.2 update has arrived with a handful of improvements over the previous software. The list begins with new watch faces such as the “three-ring” layout.

It further integrated a reminder feature that will alert you to turn off the ‘sleep mode’ on your wrist gadget. The Chinese tech giant has also looked after the stability aspects and optimized the overall functioning of the wearable for a better experience.

The changelog reveals that the Huawei Watch GT 4 wearable is getting the HarmonyOS 4.2 update with the 4.2.0.103 version and a software package of 47.19MB. You can check the complete update changelog below:

What’s New:

  • Added ‘three rings’ and other new sets of official free watch faces with new designs. Users can visit the dial store to download and use it.
  • Added reminder feature to exit the ‘sleep mode’

Optimizations:

  • Optimized the user experience in upgraded scenarios.

The update is rolling out in a phased manner and will take some time to approach every model. Although you can try the manual installation via Huawei Health.

Before proceeding, ensure that the app is running on the latest build version. Also, you should have sufficient storage in your device to store the update.

Once done, open the app and tap on the ‘Devices’ option. Select your watch and let the app fetch the latest update. Hereafter, follow the on-screen instructions to install the new firmware. Make sure that your wrist gadget and smartphone remain in the Bluetooth range during the update.
