Huawei Watch 5 will be the first smartwatch with finger touch sensors

Huawei has just dropped a teaser, giving us a sneak peek at the Watch 5 series’ special button, which looks like finger touch sensors. The company has started hyping the new smartwatch lineup, revealing its key features one by one!
The latest Watch 5 series teaser gives a clearer look at the new elongated oval-shaped button. The special add-on became a highlight since launch announcement.
Looking into the video teaser, it seems the device will feature finger touch sensors to check on health data and reports. The company might have upgraded its TruSense Health system, integrating it with a finger sensor this time.
As Huawei said:
“Feel the future of digital health at your fingertips. #TaptheNext #HuaweiLaunch #HUAWEIWatch5”
With that, the Huawei Watch 5 will be the first smartwatch to use finger touch sensors to look at health reports more quickly and accurately. How is it different from normal fingerprint sensors? Let’s find out!

Fingerprint Sensor
A fingerprint sensor on a device is a biometric setup that verifies a user’s identification via their unique fingerprint patterns. It is mainly used for security purposes, preventing snoopy hands from accessing your device.
Huawei has patented a 3D fingerprint scanner technology for wearables. It is an in-display sensor allowing users to perform multiple gestures or unlock the watch. Though the tech may take time to reach smartwatches.
Finger Touch Sensor
On the other hand, a finger touch sensor is a general type of sensor used to detect any physical contact (specifically a finger) on the surface. It enables users to interact with the device by simply touching any button or directly on the screen.
Such sensors use capacitance, pressure, or other technologies to detect touch and trigger actions in the device’s behavior based on the user’s input.
The exact functions of the ‘finger touch sensors’ for the Huawei Watch 5 are unclear at present. Although we may grab more details as we get closer to the launch date.
