Huawei tops Apple in 2024 Chinese smartwatch sales race

Huawei is not only surpassing its rivals in the Chinese smartphone market but also doing well in the wearable segment. A new report says Huawei has topped Apple in the 2024 Chinese smartwatch sales competition and grabbed first place.
RUNTO Technology has released its annual report on China’s online market for Smart Wristwear Devices in 2024. The report highlights the sales, top rankers, and overall growth of the smartwatch market in China.
As per the details, Huawei ranked first and surpassed Apple in the Chinese smartwatch race for 2024. It has scored a market share of 31.9% in the wearable segment.
The company progressed 24.3% year-on-year in smartwatch sales. As per Runto tech, Huawei grabbed the top position due to its powerful features, innovation, and comprehensive product lines. These factors made Huawei the top ranker.
On the other hand, Apple wearables‘ sales dropped by 24.6% YoY. The tech giant has gained a significant market share of 20.6% and is ranked second. But it didn’t do well in terms of sales due to heavy competition by its Chinese opponents.

Xiaomi is the third ranker in this race, with a 97.2% YoY increase in sales. It has achieved 10.4% market share due to its newly launched Redmi watches.
Honor is at the fourth spot with a 3.2% market share and 33.2% YoY growth. Vivo has obtained the fifth position with 2.6% market share and the highest sales growth of 214.7%.
Overall, the Chinese online wearable sales market sold 57.04 million units last year and gained a year-on-year increase of 14.2%. We have now entered 2025, and all these tech vendors are ready to showcase more dynamic wearables.
Huawei is already working on the Watch Fit 4 series (with a Pro variant) and the Watch 5 lineup. Both devices have cleared many certifications. They may launch by the end of the first half of this year.
