Huawei testing HiCar 13.2.0.450 features

Huawei HiCar 13.2.0.450 is under public beta testing and the company is trying to bring new features for the car users running with the latest HiCar version. However, these changes are under beta mode. This means it will only rollout for all users after a stable release.

According to the changelog, Huawei HiCar 13.2.0.450 will stop taking testers by the 15th of June. The changelog shows that this update has added a new driving mode, which currently supports Mate 50 series, Mate 40 series, Mate X2 series, Mate Xs 2 series, and more models.

For those who don’t know, Huawei HiCar smartphone and car connection operating system. With a wired or wireless connection, users can use the smartphone’s navigation, music, calling, voice assistant as well as other prominent features directly into their cars.

Let’s take a look at these new testing features in detail.

  • The top of the HiCar driving mode is a navigation window, and the middle is a slidable widget, including a music widget, payment widget, phone widget, parking assistant widget, weather widget, and more.
  • The dock below is a fixed common application icon bar. They are the home page, maps, music, and recently used applications, and support simultaneous navigation, listening to songs, swiping vibrato, and watching WeChat on one interface.
  • You can search for the destination address on the driving mode page of the phone. Then the car will seamlessly follow the indicated direction. It supports one-click screenshots of the car smart screen, making sharing more convenient.

In the test notes, Huawei mentioned that the latest features need the phone to run EMUI 10.0, EMUI 11.0, HarmonyOS 2, HarmonyOS 3.0, Magic UI 3.0 and later versions.
