Huawei sold 4.3 million units in 2024 Chinese PC market

Huawei is making strides in its consumer business; this time, the focus has appeared in the PC segment. The company has shipped around 4.3 million Huawei PC units in the 2024 Chinese market, powered by an Intel chip and top-notch AI features.

Canalys recently published a new report revealing Huawei’s PC shipments in China. The company gained a lot of attention for its MateBook devices, featuring the Pangu AI model, a thin, durable design, and impressive office efficiency.

According to the report, Huawei has shipped nearly 4.3 million units in the Chinese PC market for 2024. With that, the OEM has become the second-largest notebook maker in China, thanks to models like MateBook 14 and MateBook X Pro.

The company further secured 11% of the market share in the 2024 PC race. Now, it is ready to take its notebook lineup to the next level with the launch of HarmonyOS PC.

Huawei aims to ditch Windows completely this year. The tech giant took the first move in this aspect by releasing the MateBook 14 Linux, MateBook D 16, and MateBook X Pro Linux Edition. These models run Linux instead of Windows OS.

Inputs reveal that the Windows license is about to expire for Huawei PCs, and Microsoft will halt the supply of its software for MateBooks following U.S. sanctions.

Hence, the company has decided to switch to its self-developed operating system for notebooks. It has confirmed to unveil HarmonyOS PC next month. Though an exact date is currently missing from the launch frame.

Ahead of that, Huawei has introduced some MateBook Linux Editions in the market one after another, attracting the attention of consumers. Those who want to use Windows can ask the official store staff to install the OS on the Linux model.

Don’t worry, as this installation won’t remove other Huawei features from the device and will continue to deliver a seamless notebook experience to users.
