Huawei sold 12.9 million smartphones in China: Q1 2025

IDC reports that Huawei has shipped around 12.9 million smartphones in the Q1 2025 Chinese market. After fruitful results in the handset segment last year, the company is achieving new milestones, starting with the first quarter of 2025.
International Data Corporation (IDC) has released the Q1 2025 Chinese smartphone market report. The data reveals that the market has jumped by 3.3% year-on-year in the first quarter of this year, higher than the global phone growth rate.
This time, Xiaomi won the first position with 13.3 million phone shipments and witnessed a growth of 39.9%. It has topped in both sales and growth rate among the rankers.
Huawei grabbed the second spot and has shipped 12.9 million smartphones in Q1 2025 in China. The company is seeing a growth of 10.0% year-on-year.
Perhaps the magic of the Mate 70 series led the company to the top three position. The device went official in November last year and opened for sale in December 2024. Over time, the lineup gathered attention for its camera, design, AI features, and improved performance, especially the Premium Edition.
On the other hand, the company has launched the most incredible foldable, Pura X, with an unimaginable form factor. The device has a 16:10 wide screen, which is catching everyone’s eyes in the market. The big screen is giving a tough spot to both flip and fold models in the consumer market.

Enjoy lineup has also grabbed the limelight for its Pro-grade features and Kirin 5G chip. More new Huawei phones are on the way, which may boost the company’s growth in the next quarter.
OPPO has ranked third with a shipment of 11.2 million units and 3.3% YoY growth. Vivo comes fourth and sold 10.3 million devices with a growth rate of 2.3% YoY. Apple has achieved the fifth rank with a decline of 9% YoY and shipped 9.0 million units.
