Although top executives from Huawei has denied that they’ve not developed for Hongmeng OS for the smartphones but a new report has once again started the conversation on Android’s alternative.

Hongmeng: Here’s everything you need to know about Huawei’s Operating System

According to sources related to the matter, Huawei is currently testing the Hongmeng OS on its smartphones and the first batch will be rolled out in Q4 starting with low and mid-range smartphones to the flagship devices later in the year. As this move is expected to get more developers for its ecosystem, reported Globaltimes.

“The new Huawei phones with the Hongmeng system will debut in the market in the fourth quarter, with up to several million units in stock. It is expected that the smartphone will show up along with the Huawei Mate 30 series,” the source noted.

The price is expected to be set around 2,000 yuan (around $290), targeting the medium- and low-end market. In such a way, Huawei can deliver the device in a fast and convenient manner, while also growing the market and not causing an economic burden for users, analysts said.

“The priority task for Huawei to achieve this ambition is to attract as many developers as they can to build an ecosystem,” the source noted.

During the H1 Business Result Q&A, Huawei’s Chairman, Liang Hua said Hongmeng was originally developed for of Internet of Things (IoT) and has the potential of being applied for remote health care services, Autonomous driving, and Industrial control.

He also said Google has not resumed its services for Huawei and if the US won’t allow the company to carry its business with the Chinese tech giant, Huawei will develop its own OS for the smartphones.

Compared to Liang Hua, In the past few months, we’ve gathered enough information to show that Hongmeng OS’s development for smartphone is already under operation but the company has repeatedly denied and said they’ve no Android alternative while they may have been hiding it on their sleeves.

For now, we don’t have any official statement about Hongmeng’s use for the smartphones but the US will soon take its decision on the resumption of Google Huawei business, in the meantime we’re also moving towards the HDC 2019 that may not reveal every possible mystery on Hongmeng OS but expects to pull some important curtains from its future and its role for the company.
