Huawei smartphone business is touching new heights year-by-year despite tougher US ban. Although struggle has become a constant part of the firm’s journey, looks like it learned to somehow deal with them and achieve new milestones along the way.

A recent report hints that Huawei could claim a win over the US ban with its major smartphone earnings made last year. The company can announce a total sales revenue of $118 billion (860 billion yuan) in the upcoming 2024 annual report.

It’s quite a surprising revenue collection. This is so because Huawei has achieved the highest revenue since 2020. The last time the company earned such a big figure was five years back, before the US sanctions hit it.

US has been phasing out Huawei since 2019 over security concerns. The ban still has an impact as the company cannot access advanced chipmaking tools or US products.

Although Huawei decided to become independent by developing in-house techs and solutions. The first outcome appeared in 2023 in the form of Mate 60 Pro powered by Kirin 9000s 5G. Later, the company continued to build new 5G chips.

The return of Kirin, AI features, and innovative devices like Mate XT tri-fold impressed consumers and resulted in booming Huawei phone sales. After achieving 890 billion yuan in 2020, it seems the company is again reaching its peak.

Huawei has secured new heights not only in the smartphone business but also in the AI servers category and smart driving business. The company’s official said in February that the Huawei smartphone business is back to growth, the smart car solutions sector is developing rapidly, and revenue exceeded 860 billion yuan.

The company has already started attracting users with incredible products this year. Pura X is now official with an unimaginable appearance and AI features.

Now, Huawei looks forward to the PC section, suggesting that it can bring a new form factor to upcoming notebooks and install HarmonyOS to it over Windows.
