Huawei Smart Screen (TV) with three chipsets officially announced, launch set for September

On July 26, at the launching of Huawei Mate 20 X 5G along with other products, Huawei announced that it’s bringing its own Smart TV later this year.

Honor Smart Screen (TV) will come pop-up selfie camera and AI capabilities, release set for HDC 2019

The CEO of Huawei Consumer Business, Yu Chengdong officially announced that Huawei’s smart TV – Smart Screen will be launched among consumers in September this year.

According to Yu, Huawei Smart Screen is based on smart technology framework that will be cover most of the daily life tasks directly through TV with the help of technologies including Al Image Quality Engine, Self-developed Smart Chips, OS Technology, HIAI Engine, Huawei Sound and Cloud Service.

The screen is powered by three custom chipsets – Kirin AI chip, Hongjun Smart chip, and Gigahome Wi-Fi chip. Moreover, it’ll come packed with GPU Turbo, Link Turbo, Ark Compiler, EROFS Super file system and more.

In addition to its features, the Smart Screen adopts pop-up selfie camera with face recognition, and AI assistant as well as smart motion tracking for users. This Smart TV supports 8K 30FPS decoding and expected to come with 5G support.

Huawei Smart Screen is a similar product of what Honor will unveil at HDC 2019 but may have some upper hand on the name of technologies but we can wait for more information, that’ll be out pretty soon.
