Huawei says AI can maximize network value of 5G-A technology

Huawei unlocked several AI-centric strategies at the MWC 2025 event, and a few of these focus on the 5G-A network technology. The company believes that the integration of artificial intelligence in the network can double its value in the market.

Li Peng, the President of ICT Sales and Service in Huawei, cited how carriers can benefit from AI in the 5G-A network technology. He mentioned the use of AI in various fields like human-machine interaction, network coverage, and 5G-A deployment.

AI in Human-Machine Interaction (HMI)

AI in human-machine interaction has upgraded LLM models from text-input conversation to voice, gesture, and even better interactions. The interaction is now more convenient in real-time. It is also helping to discover innovative applications.

Here comes the role of the 5G-A network. Huawei suggests that to support these AI applications, the 5G-A network needs to offer guaranteed latency. Thus, AI integration will help in tracking these situations and ensure deterministic latency at every point.

AI will further evolve the method of producing and distributing content on the internet. AIGC is the perfect example that creates long hours 3D videos in a single click.

Consumers are also getting AI recommendations that eventually make the content better. These two methods will likely increase the network traffic in the next five years. It will also raise the demands on the network, and to meet the goals, carriers will need greater network capacity, larger uplink, and downlink bandwidth.

Some third-party resources say that by 2030, cloud phones and drives users will reach 1 billion. These devices will require fast access to cloud computing. Smart in-vehicle apps will also require an improved network for a reliable experience.

These situations will ultimately demand the expansion of 5G NSA and 5G SA networks. As a result, AI will help carriers to expand network coverage and offer a smooth experience for tens of billions of new connections. Li concluded the speech by saying:
