Huawei-SAIC developed Shangjie smart car may debut in mid-2025
Huawei and SAIC confirmed to unveil their first “Shangjie” brand smart car this year, and inputs reveal that the automobile could debut in mid-2025. It is still uncertain when the dynamic electric vehicle will go official in the consumer market.
China Securities Journal noted that Huawei-SAIC jointly developed smart car could show up officially in mid-2025. Even though both parties didn’t reveal the exact launch date, we can expect it around the mid or late June this year.
SAIC held an event called “SAIC Night” on April 10, announcing the smart car brand Shangjie. It also mentioned that the company has a significant corporation with Huawei for a smart car selection model, probably Shangjie.
This new car could target the youth market with a starting price of nearly 170,000 yuan to 250,000 yuan. It will likely use SAIC’s sub-brand Roewe architecture.
Huawei didn’t build cars. Though it is familiar in the Chinese automobile market for delivering smart car solutions to automakers. It has currently four main SUV brands built in corporation with other brands. These are:
- AITO
- Luxeed
- STELATO
- MAEXTRO
Now Huawei is readying another car brand with SAIC. Both have signed a strategic agreement in February. Now the smart car is in the making and may officially debut in the upcoming months. Stay tuned.
