Huawei rumored to mass-produce rollable display smartphone this year

Huawei is once again in the rumors for its “rollable screen smartphone,” and the firm could mass-produce it this year. A tipster suggested that after the world’s first triple folding handset, the company is working on its first scrolling screen foldable.
The Chinese OEM has many device plans this year, including flagship smartphones, dynamic tablets, HarmonyOS PC software for notebooks, and folding phones.
But @Setsuna Digital notes that Huawei has separate goals to mass-produce triple and rollable screen folding smartphone this year. The leak draws two conclusions.
First, the company hasn’t suspended the second tri-fold development idea. It may start mass-producing the 2nd-gen Mate XT later this year, launching it in mid-2026. The conclusion is in line with the previous revelations on this matter.
Second, the OEM can finally launch its rollable-screen smartphone in 2025 or early next year. The concepts and patents of Huawei’s scrolling-screen device have been emerging for four years. We could eventually see its first official glimpse this year.

Many companies, like Samsung and Tecno, have shown rollable screen prototypes and concept devices so far. However, none of these devices have been released for sale to consumers.
In case Huawei takes the ‘mass producing’ step, it will become the first brand to officially launch a rollable-display folding phone. While the company has issued patents on this technology, it didn’t make a bold move up till now.
But this year, for which Huawei said to unveil several unexpected products, a rollable screen smartphone may get a chance to debut on the consumer stage.
Note: The company hasn’t confirmed or announced any such news. Hence, the details on Huawei’s rollable screen folding phone are still unclear. We’ll keep you posted with the latest information on this matter.
