Huawei is rumored to be testing new 5G baseband and System on Chip (SOC), this input is coming from well-known tipster – DigitalChatStation amid growing reports of Huawei’s return in the 5G smartphone segment.

The tipster wrote that the performance of the SoC is similar to the below current-flagship chip level. This simply means that the chip has a performance above the mid-to-high-end chipset.

Currently, the name of these chips are not revealed but it’s suggested to vary. Also, the new flagship phone has a lot of heat dissipation systems, with a large area of metal and a vapor chamber.

The latter part of the discussion leads us to the recent leak of Huawei P60 live images. The company has installed a big metal area on the bottom side, which looks like an aesthetic inclusion along with a separate top part.

The improved heat dissipation arrangement could be placed due to the new chipset. Also, a separate 5G baseband creates a lot of heat inside the device. That’s why, the latest 5G phones come with embedded 5G chips. We’re unaware processing technology of this new chipset and also about the adaption in Huawei smartphones.

Huawei is selling 4G smartphones since 2021, which is due to the restrictions imposed by the US.  Reports from Reuters and NikkeiAsia reveal that Huawei is working on a 5G chipset and the company is taking help from domestic industry partners to launch a new 5G.

However, Huawei has denied the launch of a new 5G chip or a smartphone. Therefore, we need to wait until the Huawei Mate 60 series launch, which will clear the cloud of doubts.

Huawei also has not confirmed any news regarding testing the 5G baseband or 5G chip at the moment. It’s going to be interesting if it actually happens.
