Huawei Apple Q4 2024 Chinese smartphone

Huawei has shown amazing performance in the Q4 2024 Chinese smartphone race while Apple faced another ‘sales drop’ of the year. Even though the iPhone maker shipped more devices than its rival, it slipped again in its second-largest market.

TechInsights shared the Chinese smartphone market report for Q4 2024. The overall sales market hit 75 million units in the four quarter and achieved new growth.

Starting with Huawei, the company has ranked third in the Q4 2024 Chinese smartphone market (right below Apple). Yet its annual growth hiked by 14.4% YoY.

Huawei shipped 12.7 million smartphone units in the fourth quarter of 2024. It occupied 16.9% of the market share in China, which boosted its annual progress.

The company unveiled Nova 13 series and Mate 70 smartphones in Q4 2024 which positively impacted its market value. Nova 13 brought some impressive camera capabilities. Meanwhile, the Mate 70 stepped in as the most powerful competitor.

While the Nova 13 series gained popularity in the mid-range market, the Mate 70 models resulted in ‘excessive demand’ in the premium smartphone category.

Apple, on the other hand, achieved the second spot but slipped by 7.1% YoY. It delivered 13 million iPhones in China and obtained a 17.3% market share but faced a decline in terms of sales. Despite effective tech changes, the OEM continued to see a decline in its growth for the fourth time in 2024 Chinese market.

It seems Huawei will continue to lead the Chinese smartphone market in 2025 as well, giving a tough bang to the iPhone developer.
