Huawei confirms Leica camera partnership end

Today, Huawei has (via AndroidAuthority) confirmed that the strategic partnership with Leica ended on March 31. This is quite a confirmation that we’ve been waiting for and we’re interested to see what the next camera phone from Huawei will bring for the consumers.

Earlier this day, Xiaomi officially confirmed the kick-off of the strategic partnership with Leica. The well-known camera imaginary enhancing technology company is based in Germany.

Currently, Xiaomi has not confirmed the first device that will feature Leica powered camera system but it’s expected that Xiaomi 12 could be the first one to bring it to the Xiaomi consumers.

It’s surely bad news to hear, that Huawei consumer business group software department president – Wan Chenglu is leaving Huawei. He has been known as the creator and leader of two core Huawei consumer-based software – HarmonyOS and EMUI and it’s heartbreaking to know that he’s making his way out of the Chinese tech giant’s shadow but there’s also an interesting side to this story.

According to the Chinese news sources, Dr. Wang Changlu, creator and leader of Huawei’s HarmonyOS and EMUI has left Huawei and is likely to join Shenzhen Kaihong Digital Industry Development Co., Ltd. The inputs reveal that he’s taking this step to further conduct his research on HarmonyOS operating system and expand the reach of this operating system for both consumer and industrial use cases.

Shenzhen Kaihong Digital Industry Development Co., Ltd. (Shen Kaihong) was established on August 26, 2021. This firm mainly focuses on the research and development of IoT operating systems. Canada to ban Huawei from 5G: Report

Huawei has been under a lot of difficulties for the last three years due to U.S. sanctions, which have led to bans on its network equipment in different markets. However, despite various processes, Canada has now also shown its direction on this matter to ban Huawei from 5G development in the country.

According to the report coming from Reuters, Canada is planning to ban Huawei from its 5G network gear installation program citing national security risks without showing any of them.

The country is following the path of the Five Eyes intelligence-sharing group including five countries including the U.S., U.K., Australia, and New Zealand.

“We intend to exclude Huawei and ZTE from our 5G networks,” Industry Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne told reporters in Ottawa. “Providers who already have this equipment installed will be required to cease its use and remove it under the plans we’re announcing today.”

Aside from this, the Canadian government has also laid down a deadline for carriers and network companies to remove their network 5G equipment by the year 2024. On the other hand, companies that use 4G equipment from Huawei will be required to remove the gear until 2027.
