Huawei Pura X launched, a foldable phone with 16:10 widescreen

On March 20, Huawei launched Pura X, a unique foldable phone that could be used both horizontally and vertically thanks to its wide dimensions. The device is wider than the usual flip style device, and its screens makes things compliant with all of its design details.

Its cover expands 3.5-inches with 980 x 980 pixels resolution, 2500 nits of peak brightness, 1×1 ratio, 1-120Hz refresh featuring an LTPO panel, HRD vivid content support.

On top of the cover screen, you will see a camera system consisting of four openings. It consists of a 50MP f/1.6 RYYB main camera, a 3.5X optical zoom camera, a 40MP ultra angle camera and a color sensor.

Going inside, the phone offers a 6.3-inch 16:10 wide-screen with 2120×1320 pixel resolution, 1-120Hz LTPO 2.0 adaptive refresh rate, 2500 nits peak brightness, HDR vivid and 1440Hz.

The appearance is complimented by its form factor, and it reflects on the back panel in different colors and materials, including Moon Shadow Gray, Zero Degree White, Phantom Night Black and two collector’s edition.

Yu Chengdong, Executive Director, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Consumer BG, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Intelligent Automotive Solution BU said the wide-screen on Pura X gives it many advantages over traditional smartphones.

The Huawei leader expressed that this phone is helpful in watching online content, its visible area is increased by 40% for short videos and the display area for images and text is increased by 60%.

The internal screen provides 30% more viewing area than a 16:9 ratio phone.

Pura X runs Harmony OS 5 featuring a new native applications ecosystem at full swing thanks to the reworked kernel, improved Ark engine and end-to-end cloud integration. The software performance is improved up to 40% compared to the previous HarmonyOS version.

This phone uses generative AI powered by Pangu large model in collaboration with DeepSeek dual models for voice assistant. Another gen AI feature is AI eye-movement, which helps users to turn an on-screen page with eye movement.

This phone has a 4720mAh battery with 66W wired super fast charging and 40W wireless fast charging.

The Pura X starts at 7499 yuan for 12GB RAM and 256GB storage version.
