Huawei Pura X foldable is using DeepSeek AI model
Huawei Pura X foldable is a fusion of innovation + technology, thanks to top-end hardware components and DeepSeek AI. The company has integrated its first official native HarmonyOS phone with the DeepSeek AI-powered virtual assistant.
On Thursday, Huawei launched a new folding handset called Pura X, which is more like a mini foldable tablet than a mere smartphone. It comes with an unexpectedly wider screen that simplifies reading, video watching, and gaming experiences.
The foldable comes with various ‘first-in-the-industry’ features. It is the first device to pre-install stable HarmonyOS NEXT. Huawei Pura X is also the first product running on the DeepSeek AI model, with a touch of innovation.
DeepSeek AI is present in Pura X in the form of a Celia virtual assistant. As per Richard Yu -the Chairman of Huawei Consumer Business, the company’s AI assistant is smarter than ever as it integrates the power of HarmonyOS and DeepSeek.
Richard Yu said:
“We have trained our AI assistant for millions of hours with our large language models and put that intelligence on the device for the first time to make it like a real human that can interact naturally with different emotions and detect users’ moods.”

Huawei has developed the advanced Celia Assistant version by using its in-house Pangu and the Chinese DeepSeek AI models. Both techs craft a strong infrastructure for AI capabilities and let the device understand the user way much better.
The company has used the DeepSeek R1 AI model running on the Ascend 910C platform. R1 artificial intelligence model is far ahead of its rivals in many aspects.
Huawei aims to answer US restrictions over foreign products with home-grown technologies and solutions. After smartphones, the company will soon release the HarmonyOS software system for its notebooks alongside DeepSeek AI assistant.
