Huawei Pura 80 Ultra may use RYYB-powered main and periscope camera

Huawei Pura 80 Ultra could feature an RYYB-powered main and periscope camera. The company has been testing many new sensors for its upcoming flagship lineup. Now, the latest input adds more insights on this matter and reveals a few key details.
Pura/P series is considered a strong player in the world of camera phones. The company aims to make the Pura models even better with each new version. The next lineup is a part of this direction and targets the best photography experience.
DigitalChatStation has spilled new details about the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra, saying that the device will use RYYB-powered camera specs. The company is currently testing RYYB sensors for the main and periscope lenses of the high-end variant.
The tipster details that Huawei is testing an RYYB sensor for the 1-inch main camera and 1/1.3-inch ultra-large periscope. Pura 80 Ultra may also use a new variable aperture technology to increase the amount of light intake and offer brighter shots regardless of dim light situations or at night times.
Earlier, the tipster mentioned the RYYB capability only for Pura 80 Ultra’s periscope lens. But looks like the main camera won’t be an exception in this case.

RYYB Sensors
An RYYB camera sensor has a color filter array with a pattern of red, yellow, yellow, and blue filters. This particular set is capable of collecting more light than a normal RGGB (Red, Green, Green, Blue) sensor. Thus, it eventually enhances low-light camera performance and offers the best nightography results.
These sensors further improve dynamic range and offer a wide spectrum of light levels in a single picture. Meanwhile, the color accuracy becomes more appropriate.
Pura 70 Ultra Camera
Huawei has used the RYYB capability for the Pura 70 Ultra as well. Though the sensor was limited to the periscope lens. The main camera was confined to a 1-inch CMOS camera, sensor-shift OIS, and F1.6-4.0 variable aperture traits, as well as an innovative retractable mechanism.
This time, the company is seemingly planning to adopt RYYB for both the main and periscope cameras with Huawei Pura 80 Ultra. How well the leak fits in the real world well be clear in the coming days. Stay tuned.
