Huawei appears to be reintroducing a 10x optical zoom camera with the Pura 80 Ultra smartphone. A new piece of information hints that the next-gen Pura lineup will bring several new features, with the camera segment being a major highlight.

Weibo tipster @DigitalChatStation says the top 5 Chinese phone makers are preparing their ‘Ultra’ handsets. Perhaps these models can feature a 50MP periscope camera with 10x optical zoom capability and medium focal length.

Since Huawei Pura 80 series, with the ‘Ultra’ variant, is also in the making and may debut in the first half of this year, we can expect it to feature a 10x optical zoom camera.

The tipster didn’t reveal the brands’ names or devices. Hence, it is unclear if Huawei will use this seamless zooming tech for its upcoming top-tier Pura 80 Ultra.
