Weibo tipster @DigitalChatStation says that the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra will bring extraordinary hardware upgrades. It may pack “unexpected” hardware components this time to deliver the best smartphone experience from every angle.

Further inputs reveal that the company could introduce new self-developed technologies with the Pura 80 Ultra this time. These techs could be related to the display solution, camera, chipset, battery, or satellite communication.

Apart from the hardware upgrades, the tipster mentioned that it would be hard to say which phone will be the camera king this year. This statement points out that Pura 80 Ultra will be a tough rival in the imaging field, just like its predecessor.

Some inputs reveal that Huawei could use a new “continuous optical zoom capability” with the next lineup. The tech enables the focal length to adjust constantly instead of moving in different zoom levels. Thus, users can easily set the focal length.

This capability also makes the zoom performance smoother and ensures clearer shots every time. Another upgrade could be a new-gen architecture with tougher yet more excellent components to give a solid and convenient feel to hands.

Regarding the camera, the device is expected to use a new 50MP OmniVision 1-inch primary sensor with variable aperture, a 50MP ultrawide-angle lens, and a 50MP 1/1.3-inch periscope telephoto camera which is considered to be the largest periscope sensor in the industry. It may combine upgraded XMAGE functionalities.

The leak also hints that the Pura 80 series will likely launch much later than many other brands this year. As per early revelations, the device may debut in the second quarter of 2025. Though an official confirmation awaits on this matter.
