Huawei Pura 80 series to welcome smarter AI upgrade in August
Huawei Pura 80 series will get a new AI “glow-up” upgrade in August this year. The company’s senior official has recently confirmed a revamped Celia AI assistant for the new flagship smartphones with several advanced and useful capabilities.
Richard Yu, the Huawei Consumer Business Chairman, has announced a new Celia AI upgrade for the Pura 80 series, coming in August. He further showed how the new virtual assistant will make your daily operations more convenient than ever!
“I would like to introduce my new assistant, Celia (Xiaoyi), to you all. She is very capable! She will be launched in the #HuaweiPura80# series in August.”
Yu revealed the revamped Celia AI performing three important tasks in no time, through just voice commands. Well, that’s something similar to Honor’s YOYO assistant that can order a coffee for you via your voice-based instructions.
Coming back, the executive asked Celia to help him with three things. First – booking a flight as he’s going to Beijing for a business trip. He shared the date and time with Celia.

Second, he asked the AI assistant to purchase a Pura 80 Pro+ (Glaze Red + 1TB storage) phone from the Huawei Mall for a friend. Thirdly, Yu asked Celia to download a movie series from Huawei Video.
The upgraded assistant immediately took the steps to complete the operations, asking which flight had to be booked, what type of payment method the executive would use, and whether he would like to download all the clips of the movie at once.
On getting answers, Celia completed the three tasks within minutes. In short, the upgraded Celia AI assistant now supports these quick features with voice:
- Booking a flight
- Purchasing a new phone
- Downloading Movies or TV shows
Harmony AI-powered Celia App has become more convenient and easier to use this time. Huawei will likely bring these features to the Pura 80 series with the HarmonyOS 6.0 beta versions.
