Huawei Pura 80 series teaser outlines bold and iconic camera design

Huawei has dropped the first teaser of the Pura 80 series, which gives a slight yet official glimpse of the device’s camera bump. While the complete look is still under the hood, the promotional image outlines a bold and iconic design.
Pura 80 series will launch on June 11 through a grand conference. It is the second-gen lineup in the Pura family and promises advancements in the imaging technology.
Meanwhile, the new Huawei teaser hypes that the Pura 80 series has a big and robust camera structure. It is quite in line with earlier leaked points that hinted at a dual-periscope lens unit in the high-end Pura 80 variants.
Going into the image details, the poster specifically highlights two camera sensors, probably the dual-periscope unit. The company has used a similar camera setup for the P40 Pro+. After a gap of 5 years, it is bringing back this framework.
The two sensors in the image are surrounded by a golden rim. These two lenses are arranged near the curvy edge of the camera bump. Perhaps, the overall design would be similar to the one leaked in official live images.

P40 Pro+ dual-periscope
Huawei P40 Pro+ is the first smartphone in the industry to feature two telephoto lenses. One of these is a periscope-style lens with a 10x optical zoom and the other features 3x telephoto optical zoom.
Such a camera system not only increases the zooming capability but also offers clearer, crisper, and noise-free images irrespective of the subject’s distance.
Looks like Huawei is once again adopting this dual-periscope camera unit for its next-gen Pura models. Apart from this upgrade, the company will revamp the primary and ultrawide-angle shooters for the upcoming top-tier models.
Early leaks suggested that the Huawei Pura models will have enhanced cameras over their predecessors. The Ultra version is expected to feature a LOFIC-based main camera with the largest 1/1.3-inch periscope lens. Besides, the Pro+ handset could use a new SmartSens 50MP primary snapper instead of the Sony IMX 989.
The standard Pura 80 could continue the same camera module as the previous-gen model. AI integration can further take the photography experience to the next level.
