Huawei Pura 80 Pro/Pro+ leak reveals main and periscope camera details

Huawei Pura 80 Pro and Pro+ camera details began surfacing on the internet. The smartphones are expected to debut in May or June this year. Meanwhile, leaks have started revealing the key specifications of the high-end Pura 80 members.

Earlier, we reported on the Pura 80 Ultra’s major camera parameters. Now, a new input highlights the main camera and periscope lens upgrades of the Pro/Pro+ variants.

DigitalChatStation has come up with a new array of Huawei Pura 80 Pro/Pro+ camera upgrades. These models will likely use the same primary lens as the Ultra handset.

Pura 80 Pro+ Camera

The leak says that the Huawei Pura 80 Pro+ will use a 1-inch main camera and a 50MP periscope sensor. The periscope lens could belong to the OmniVision Group.

Pura 80 Pro Camera

The simple Pro handset will likely adopt a 1/1.3-inch primary lens and a 12MP periscope sensor. Here, the main camera could be similar to the Pura 80 Ultra phone.

For reference, the Pura 70 Pro and Pro+ features a 50MP main camera with a 48MP telephoto sensor. Looks like the upcoming Pura lineup will introduce better lens upgrades with impressive imaging capabilities than its predecessor.

The tipster mentioned that these camera specifications aren’t finalized yet. Huawei is still testing new enhancements and optical techs for its flagship series.

Huawei Periscope Camera

Over time, the company has enhanced the periscope camera technology to a greater extent. The company introduced the Ultra Lighting Periscope lens with the P60 Pro. It expands the zoom scope of the sensor and offers anti-shake properties.

On the flip side, the Pura 70 series took telephotography to a new level with the XD Motion Engine and 5x optical zoom that offers stable shots irrespective of speed and distance. It’s time for the Pura 80 series to show magical changes in this aspect.

Some netizens commented that the Pura 80 series periscope sensor may raise the bar of macrophotography. It may enhance the telephoto capability and offer excellent shots even at night times. But how far the leak is accurate will be known later.

Rumors further claim that Huawei is working on a self-developed triple-cam setup for the Pura 80 models. The company is planning to integrate self-made techs into the upcoming smartphone lineup, unlocking unique camera capabilities.
