Huawei Pura 70/Mate 60 gets new Gallery features with HarmonyOS NEXT 5.0.0.155

HarmonyOS NEXT 5.0.0.155 public beta is now live for Pura 70, Mate 60, and other eligible devices with new gallery features. This time, the company has focused on improving the album section of the device and adding some new enhancements to it.

The company is constantly improving its new HarmonyOS NEXT software system before initiating a stable rollout. While Huawei has launched the official 5.0 build with Pura X foldable, a similar treatment is missing for other devices.

It is unclear when the company will release HarmonyOS NEXT Stable for its handsets. But you can continue to explore new software changes with public beta releases.

HarmonyOS NEXT 5.0.0.155 public beta update introduces new features for the Gallery app. It has added a new pop-up window allowing quick access to storage devices to view, copy, or move pictures. The interface is optimized, and overall operations are more convenient.

Gallery

• When connected to an external device, a pop-up window will appear on the gallery interface to quickly access the storage device to view pictures and videos or copy or move them to the gallery.
• Optimized the layout and display effects of the gallery interface. The app now groups and displays photos by date. Pinch and zoom in on the photo page day view to browse by specific date. The cover of the portrait album can display the number of photos.
• Provides more convenient operations, one-click text addition in the picture editing interface, convenient renaming through the four-dot icon in the upper right corner of the picture and video browsing interface.
• Optimized the Gallery browsing and viewing modes, support slide show browsing, and double-finger rotate the image to temporarily adjust the image display direction when browsing large images.
• The album page supports sorting by shooting time, file name, creation time, and file size (grid display interface in the Gallery > four-dot icon in the upper right corner > sorting method)
• Optimized the user experience of the Moment feature, supporting changing the cover and renaming, and enriched the naming of portrait themes.
• When playing a video, click the single frame export button to save the video screenshot as a picture.

Search

• Added a new search recommendation feature, which actively shows search suggestions in the search box and obtains search results in one step.
• Optimized the recommendation strategy of the Celia suggestion app, which can recommend apps based on personal usage habits, making it easier to find applications.

AppGallery

• Improved the in-depth search capability and provided you with a one-stop service. You can search for all kinds of high-quality apps in and outside the AppGallery, which is convenient and efficient.
• Optimized the experience of cloning, scanning, sharing, and other scenario apps.

Browser

• Supports voice broadcast of information. Click the earphone icon in the upper right corner of the information page icon to broadcast info by voice, freeing your hands and eyes and immersing yourself in listening (Huawei Browser needs 5.1.3.300 and above versions)
