Huawei preps to take on Samsung’s first tri-fold with Mate XT global debut
Huawei and Samsung are once again on the starting line of the tri-fold race. After winning the crown of the world’s first triple foldable maker, Huawei is now preparing to take on Samsung’s tri-fold smartphone with its Mate XT global release.
Rumors are saying that Samsung is set to unfold a new chapter in the folding phone industry. The company may launch its first “three-screen-foldable” this year.
Samsung has also teased its tri-foldable concept at the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event. One of these appeared to be a unique piece with a G-type form factor. While the other model seemed to be a copy of the champion Huawei Mate XT smartphone.
Thus, after a few months of waiting, Samsung will introduce its innovation to consumers. The company said that it aims not to be the “first” but to be the “best”.
However, it looks like Huawei won’t let the ball slip so easily in Samsung’s court. Ahead of Samsung’s tri-fold debut, Huawei is ready to unveil Mate XT in global markets.
After a wait of five months, the company is bringing its unique creation to global users. The tech giant has officially announced to launch the Ultimate triple foldable phone on February 18. It may also showcase some other products at the stage.
The latest move made by Huawei seems a clever plan to maintain its lead in the tri-fold race. While phone makers like Honor, Xiaomi, and more are still thinking to launch their first tri-foldable in the consumer platform, Huawei is expanding the reach of its tri-folding phone in more markets.
But it would be worth seeing if this plan helps Huawei to shadow Samsung’s tri-fold shine in the market or may face tough competition from the global rival.
Samsung, of course, creates the best folding phones. It also has the blessing of GMS, powerful chips, and top-notch AI features. Perhaps, the upcoming months may lead to a dynamic showdown between the Mate XT and Samsung’s first triple foldable in the global foldable battleground.
