Huawei Pocket 3 stable HarmonyOS NEXT

HarmonyOS NEXT is running in the public beta phase, but it can turn stable next week with the launch of the Huawei Pocket 3 foldable. The company has scheduled the release of the Native HarmonyOS official software version for the next week.

Richard Yu, the senior official and Chairman of Huawei Consumer Business, today announced that the stable HarmonyOS NEXT is coming soon and the most incredible smartphone (Pocket 3 foldable) will be the first to equip the official build.

With the release of the stable HarmonyOS NEXT, Huawei will likely boost the distribution of public beta for its eligible devices. The company has served its self-developed software to many devices, including the flagship Mate 70/60, Mate X6/X5, Pura 70 series, Pocket 2 foldable, and various MatePad tablets.

Now the company will push off the public testing build to mid-range models like the Nova 13 series, Nova 12/12 Pro, and other top-end models like P60 handsets.

HarmonyOS NEXT

The company launched the HarmonyOS NEXT public beta last October. Since then, Huawei has upgraded the software to 30 new versions, added over 150 features, and introduced 20,000 native HarmonyOS apps and meta-services.

Around 2 million users downloaded these apps and are using them in their daily lives. Yu says that HarmonyOS ecosystem partners, developers, and customers helped the company to speed up the native HarmonyOS development.

As of now, Huawei is ready to unveil the stable HarmonyOS NEXT version for consumers. Richard said that the official build will launch next week, and the first device to use this firmware will be the “new form factor” smartphone.

This new form factor handset could be Pocket 3, which is in the making and is expected to debut this month. Huawei will tease more details about its new stable OS and the upcoming “most incredible” phone product in the coming days.
