Huawei Petal Maps integrates Bolt app to brings in-map Ride Hailing services

On December 20, 2021, Bolt, a popular ride-hailing service is now easy to access for the consumers via direct integration to Huawei Petal Maps. The Bolt app is already available on AppGallery and the latest integration will further ease the operations.

Huawei phone users with Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) and Petal Maps now have the option to search the directions and length of a journey from one location to another. The service will also bring you services such as car, public transport, walking, and cycling, which can also be checked while riding.

Once enabled, the user will be redirected to the Bolt app to book a driver, check the driver’s details and distance, and see how much the journey will cost. The latest addition will further strengthen the features of Petal Maps, which has now reached 20 million monthly active users (MAUs) in the global market, these count 7 million in Europe and are available in over 166 countries.

Since its launch in Sumer 2020 on AppGallery, Bolt has become popular with over 12 million downloads globally. On the other hand, the app ensures affordability, reliability, and safety as well as being one of the speediest ride-hailing services available.

“The user experience of Petal Maps is being greatly enhanced by integration with Bolt, and we believe that the association also validates the sophistication of our mapping app,” said Derek Yu, President of Central Eastern Europe, Nordic and Canada Region. “The collaboration of Huawei with Bolt has seen us launch three different apps (Bolt, Bolt Food, and Bolt Driver) in just 12 months, not just to our European users, but in Africa too, and we are proud to be playing such an important role in expanding Bolt’s audience worldwide.”

The two companies have also collaborated at a software developmental level with Bolt on Huawei Petal Maps integrating Huawei’s Map Kit allowing it to power the app with personalized displays and interactions for HMS devices.

Petal Maps has recently been enhanced with new updates, including Lane Guidance which is aimed at helping drivers to enjoy enhanced route planning, and help in complex traffic situations, and Offline Maps, which allows users to take advantage of search and navigation functions, even when they have no signal.

In addition, searching for amenities is easier thanks to its new and improved ‘one-touch’ search functions which show multiple services such as petrol stations, restaurants, ATMs, and convenience stores that are nearby.
