Huawei patent introduces easy method to solve screen burn issues

Huawei has issued a new patent but this time, the aim is to fix an annoying display issue called ‘screen burn’. The company is working on a significant method that can easily and quickly resolve the screen burn problem without affecting consumers.

What is the screen burn issue?

Screen burn-in refers to the permanent discoloration of a phone’s screen in any part of the panel. As the display panel ages, some pixels lose quality and change brightness. The color reproduction also alters with time, leading to screen burn.

The issue doesn’t impact the display completely and it will continue to work as expected. Although a notable patch or pattern will be persistent on the screen.

Huawei now applied for a patent that eliminates the screen burn issues. It is entitled “Burn-in repair method, electronic device, and readable storage medium”.

Patent Theory:

The patent application includes an electronic device with a burn screen. The patch is one area of the panel. It uses a first-app interface with adjustment control. Here, the screen is also full of light-emitting components for brighter visuals.

First application interface detects the user’s operations on the adjustment control. It also determines the brightness aspect of the first operation caused by the first light-emitting element. Note that this first light-emitting element resides inside the burn-in area.

The second light-emitting element situated outside the burn-in area easily determines the interface. This element will enhance the burn-in impact of the screen. As a result, when seeing the brightness of the entire display screen, it appears better and more convenient to use.
