On April 30, Huawei has published a new patent for the remaining mileage prediction method and battery remote service system for electric vehicles with publication number CN112703518A in China.

The patent describes the method for remaining mileage prediction, using common vehicle driving characteristic data, constructing a unit SOC travelable distance prediction model, and clustering based on user characteristics

In this method, the average driving characteristics are used to predict the travelable distance of the specified consumption SOC. It can effectively improve the accuracy of the remaining mileage prediction, greatly improve the operating performance and operational reliability of the electric vehicle.

A few weeks ago, Huawei has posted a large number of patents for electric vehicles including reducer and powertrain technologies, stator core components, and more.

Previously, some rumors of Huawei planning to launch its own smart car were completely denied by the company’s higher authorities many times. In response to this, they replied it is an ICT company, not a car manufacturer.

However, Huawei will continuously deliver its digital-car-oriented technologies to smart car manufacturers. In its equation, the company is securing new innovation in the form of patents.
